Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and Acceptance

You may use 1word only if you can form a binding agreement under applicable law and comply with these Terms and any applicable App Store rules. If you use the app on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you have authority to bind them to these Terms.

2. App Purpose

1word is an educational language-learning application that provides Greek vocabulary, pronunciation playback, phrase examples, progress tracking, and review tools. The app is intended for informational and educational use only and does not provide accredited language certification, professional instruction, or guaranteed learning outcomes.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use 1word for your personal, non-commercial use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

1word may offer free and paid features, including auto-renewing subscriptions. If you purchase a subscription, payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the price shown in the app at the time of purchase or renewal. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

RevenueCat is used as a subscription management processor to validate purchases, manage entitlements, and help restore premium access across eligible installs. Pricing, trial availability, billing periods, and included features may change prospectively where permitted by law and App Store rules.

5. Refunds

Purchases made through Apple are processed by Apple. Refund requests, if any, must be handled through Apple according to Apple’s applicable policies. Except where required by law, the developer of 1word does not issue direct refunds for App Store purchases.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt to access non-public parts of the service, reverse engineer the app except as allowed by law, or use the app in a way that infringes the rights of others or violates applicable law.

7. Intellectual Property

The app, its design, branding, text, educational content, graphics, and software are protected by intellectual property laws and remain the property of the developer or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

8. Availability and Changes

The app may evolve over time. Features may be added, modified, suspended, or removed, including free and premium functionality, as part of normal product development, maintenance, legal compliance, or security updates. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation at all times.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 1word is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will always be secure, available, accurate, or free from defects.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of 1word will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the app. If liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount you paid for the app or subscription during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the app, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, or where continued operation is not commercially or technically feasible. You may stop using the app at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer’s principal place of business, excluding conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
